Prep School is an independent, private, non-sectarian, co-educational, founded in 1944, charted in 1957, and under permit by the Quebec Department of Education. It functions as a Day School offering instruction in primary annd secondary subjects. During July and August a Summer School is maintained.

The school is conveniently located near the Montreal West train station, on Sherbrooke Street West, at the corner of Connaught, with easy access to bus routes 105 ( from Metro Vendome) and 162 (from Metro Villa Maria).

The School fulfills an educational need in the community: to teach students of average or superior ability who would enjoy a more individualized program, offered in small groups. The goal of the school is to improve the academic and cultural status of the student. In this regard, the school has been eminently successful. Foreign students find this an excellent milieu for learning English.

We offer individualized instruction and personal attention. A warm rapport between teacher and student is one of the most important factors in helping students adjust to a successful school life.

The administration and faculty are in close contact with all our students and use many years of experience to help students realize their potential. Before acceptance, an interview is arranged for parents and students. Appointments are required and must be made by telephone

In 1944, Mr Brodsky organized classes for Graduates of Sir George Williams University where he was a teacher. By 1947 Mr. Finkel joined his fellow Graduate A. Brodsky, started their own tutorial school and the name Prep School was established. During the day, Mr. Brodsky, Mr. Finkel and other colleagues taught high school subjects to students who were having difficulty in their regular schools. There was also an evening school for adults.

The School was known for helping students through small classes and good discipline, to achieve their high school diplomas. In 1977 Mrs. Mora joined Prep School and started changing its profile to high academics because the need for special education services was diminishing, and the public sector was adequately fulfilling this need. The name College Prep International was registered in 1993 and the school moved to its present home at 7475 Sherbrooke West.
