On the old squalid Brooklyn street,
Sat a hmeless man with nothing to eat.
Foolishness led to his drug dependency,
Call it weak personality or addictive tendency.

Earlier in 2014, Dr. Sebastien Guillot and Daniel Varon of Mcgill University took time out of their busy schedule to meet with our science students. Our students at CPI were inspired and facinated by real world experiments they were able to participate in.

This year, our program of activities evolved and we are offering that the same scientist will visit the same class several times (3 or 4) during the school year. This will have a greater impact on the students since they will build a relationship with their scientist. We call this new program "Adopt an Astronomer".

CPI students participate in McGill ATLAS masterclass that happened last Friday.

About 50 students from CEGEP participated in an ATLAS-like mini data analysis. Two lectures in the morning: one on Particle Physics given by Michael Stoebe and another one about the world of particle physics from the Big Bang to the Higgs Boson given by Prof. Ken Ragan. In the afternoon, a mini data analysis based on real data from CERN was organized. At the end of the afternoon, students were invited to ask their questions to experts via a mini video conference with the University of Bogota, Black Hills State University, Fermilab and CERN.
